Do you worry a lot about different things? If so I would say you are like me and many others. It is easy to let things worry us but we can let go of them. When we start worrying about something we can do things to snap us out of it. Many times things we worry about never do happen to us or if they do happen to us it isn’t as bad as we worried about it. Some people like my wife hardly ever seem to worry about things or she is good at not showing it. She displays great Mental Toughness for sure and a skill I am working on teaching to others.
Worrying doesn’t make problems go away nor does it improve situations. But if you apply mental focus to the good things in life that you’ve already experienced, and give thanks for them, you will be surprised by the outcome. When you put your energy toward the more positive things in life, your worries reduce.
I’ve always believed that we need to talk to ourselves in a positive and supportive way. I know I may sound a bit repetitive here, but I feel and believe, with all my heart, that if we talk to ourselves in a positive manner and we focus our energy and time on positive occurrences and thoughts, we will live stress free and happily. Something so important as this is worth bringing up many times. After all, isn’t that what life is about—fun and enjoyment? Especially in our retirement years.
Money isn’t important to someone with major challenges in their lives. They would give up all their money to see their challenges simply disappear. You know what I mean if you’re going through a divorce. You just might be willing to give up almost everything to have your spouse back. If you have a severe illness you know what I mean, too. You would probably give up almost anything and everything to improve your health. The list could go on and on. But why worry? Here’s my personal list of questions that bring me into a state of stress-free living. Perhaps it’s help you also.
What are the benefits to stress-free living?
How will you worry less in what ways will you worry less)?
How will you help others live without stress?
Have you set goals for stress-free living?
Have you made a plan to achieve a stress-free lifestyle?
Try this exercise also called “Make a List”
Think of all the things you have overcome in your life in the past. Have the list in your pocket or in your wallet. Pull it out and read it should a rare negative thought come into your mind. If that occurs, read your list of achievements three times, until you can realize that your current challenge is only minor.
What happens next is your mind will start to work within the ‘solutions stage,” with the aim to overcome and learn from the challenge in your life. You’ll be well on your way to a stress-free day filled with constructive, positive solutions to all your challenges.
Quote I like:
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles … but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly”
