Goals in Clock Management each year most of us start out with New Year’s Resolutions or Goals. Like many people I normally have Weight Loss Goals, Family Adventure Goals, Business Goals, Investment Goals and Personal Finance Goals. All of those Goals can be a challenge to achieve without making sure we have good Clock Management.
For me to reach my Goals I like to do several things to help hold me accountable. The first thing I do is write them down on paper with Mrs. RE. The second thing I like to do is post the list of our Goals in the Kitchen so everyone can see them and one copy on our Bedroom wall. Then the third thing I do is to post it on my blogs. Fourth thing I do is a monthly update on my blogs to let people know how we are doing. The fifth thing I do is post updates in the Kitchen and Bedroom for people to see.
I do like having a schedule to help me keep on track for my goals. My goal of 100 blogs a year I have a schedule to keep me on track for the month and I also schedule time each day to work on them. Mrs. RE and myself also schedule our trips far in advance so we not only have them on the schedule so we hit our goal but also it is fun to have something really special to look forward to.
My Weight Loss goal I not only schedule it every day to make sure I keep working towards it. I also have a separate spreadsheet that I track my daily numbers to see how I am doing. I feel better about myself the more I achieve it day and week. I feel less stress then I did in the past when it seemed like I was just spinning my wheels.
It really is amazing if you get a schedule for the week and the month on how many things you can get done and look back and say “WOW, I got a lot done last week”. I can’t talk enough about the book called “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey. This book changed my life and it is a must-read book that I suggest others to read and my kids. Here is a list of my Top 10 Goals of things I want to get done each week;
