July was a busy family month. We had Tyler fly in from Minnesota and stay with us for a few weeks. We did a lot of things with Tyler during those two weeks. Then the last two weeks of the month we drove to Minnesota and Iowa to see family. It was a long drive but well worth it.
It took us about 27 hours to drive to Minnesota. We drove straight thru to save money. We also saved a lot of money driving versus flying. We figured we saved over $1,400 on the flights and another $1,000 not renting a car. It took us about 28.5 hours to get home due to traffic between Payson and Mesa.
We stayed with family in Minnesota so we saved another $1,200 roughly on hotel rooms. We did spend $177 on a Hotel rooms when we went down to Iowa for a couple of days to see my Mom. When we were in Iowa my Sister brought my Mom from the Nursing home to eat lunch with us at Happy Joes Pizza. My sister also ate with us but was not able to see us the rest of the visit. My buddy Jay also came to Happy Joes to visit us, it was good to see him.
My In-laws traveled with us so they could meet my Mom and Sister for the first time. My Mom and Sister was not able to make it to our Wedding. My In-laws have traveled to see us many times in Arizona but my Mom and Sister has not been able to visit us yet. On the way back from seeing my Mom we also saw Joey O for lunch which was fun.
I had a fun time in Minnesota golfing. I got in 8 rounds of golf with many of my Minnesota friends. Glen, Tony, John, Mark, Andy, Neal and others played some golf with us.
We also stopped in our old job to see friends. Then I also got to eat lunch with Larry, my previous Boss up in Lakeville. Larry just visit us in Arizona and then may be down to Arizona again in three weeks to see us again. Of course he will do some work when he is down here also.
Stock Market was up and down for the month again. My stocks ended up a lot and RE Wife stocks were up a lot also. We did sell O Stock this month for a loss of $34.56 but we made dividends off of it over the time we owned it. We bought BPT stock in its place. BOT did finish down for the month $85 but did pay us a dividend of $83.29. I still wish I had a crystal ball on the stock market. It is up so much since Trump won the election. I still feel it could drop any day being so high and stocks up so much. I guess time will tell. I am still 97% in Stocks.
RE Wife had an expensive month with Tyler visiting with us and our trip to the Midwest. She also bought a lot of gifts this month including going in half on a riding lawn mower for her Dad. It is a nice riding lawn mower though and should help him out a lot so he can enjoy more of his retirement years.
