No matter how hard I try to stay positive it can be a challenge when you lose someone. I lost my Dad back August 6, 2008. It will be 10 years ago this year and I still miss him so much everyday. Sorry this isn’t a fun topic but it is a topic of life.
If you are retired or close to being retire you probably have lost family members or friends by now. It does suck to put it nicely. My Dad died a painful death with Bone Cancer. His last 6 months he was in a lot of pain. It was hard seeing him that way. But I have good memories and think of him daily and all he did for us. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t wish that I could just spend one more day with him.
I recently heard another past friend passed away at too early of age also. Life changes and we may move to other towns for work or retirement and lose contact with people. But when they pass on it is still hard and brings back the good times we had with them. I know it is a fact of life but it is hard.
I have two other friends with cancer battling cancer and heard today that one of them probably won’t make it another week. I had such good times with him. We golfed together for over 8 years. We had many talks in the morning at the restaurant or when he was in shopping at my store. He was a great friend of mine and there for me when I lost my Dad. He is my good friend and golf coach of mine. I will miss him dearly. It is just hard for me to put it in words to tell him.
It just shows me the importance of telling my loved ones daily how much I appreciate them, care for them and love them daily. It shows us to appreciate everyday and every relationship we have from Family to Friends.
Retirement down here in Arizona is tough at times being so far away from family. Thank goodness for Skype and Cell Phones. We are able to keep in some contact with family and friends that don’t live here. We hope to have all of our Family and Friends living down here in Arizona someday. I know that is probably a pipe dream. But I keep dreaming. We keep telling Mom and Dad we have a Bedroom just for them, they can live there Rent Free and be in some great weather all year around. We all would love it.
Sorry again for the downer of blog but it is a way for me to say “Thanks” to all my Family and Friends for the love they share with me daily and a way to wish them all the best of luck in the future. A way to thank them for all the great times we shared together. I hope my friends that will probably pass soon that they pass peacefully and not in pain. Cancer sucks. I wish they could find a cure for it. Another pipe dream.
