Where to work at before Retirement

So, if you aren’t retired yet are you happy? A friend of mine posted a video clip on Facebook of a guy talking about life and work. I felt is was so good that I wanted to talk to you more about it and get you thinking about your current situation if you aren’t retired yet.

Some people I talk to say they will never retire because they have hardly saved any money. Some people I talk to have a ton of money but enjoy what they do and want to keep working. They can’t imagine not working.

Women have a life expectancy they say from ages 78.4 to age 81.2. Men have a life expectancy of age 76.4 to age 80. Women do seem to out live us Men. I started working at age 6 but let’s say most people start at age 18 while going to College and retire at age 65 or age 70. Well by those numbers and if they live to age 80 then they will have worked 65% to 72% of there life. The years before working was being a kid and going to school. So, if you just count retirement years then you would be Retired just 12.5% to 18.75% of your life.

So, as you can see you are spending most of your Adult and Healthy life at work. I know people that make $30,000 a year and have more saved than people that make $100,000 a year. So, income doesn’t matter if you are not disciplined to save. So, if you don’t save money then you will end up working later in life than others who do save money.

With all that information doesn’t it make sense to work at a job that you enjoy going to. Working at a place that makes you feel good and you look forward to going back the next day. A place where you have good relationships and you feel valued. No, I am not drunk, there are places out there for you. It may not pay what you \currently make but as you see above it doesn’t matter what you make as much as how much you save.
