Who doesn’t have things in your life that isn’t going the way you want it? Some people call those things as problems. Some let the problems run their lives and ruin their day by worrying about them.
How do you handle challenges or problems in your life? I once heard a thing to try is called a 95 Rule. The 95 Rule is where you spend only 5% worrying about the problem and spend 95% on the solutions for the challenge or problem in your life.
How much more productive would you be? I know I am less stressed when I am thinking about solving a challenge and coming up with ideas than I am when I am sulking about my problem.
It is good to surround yourself with people that also like the 95 Rule for handling challenges or problems. Think what ideas you could come up with as a group also. I talk to my boys about their friends and are they lifting them up or bringing them down? Who we spend our time with is likely who we become.
That is why I like to hang with positive people that are more interested in solving problems and creating positive things in this world than complaining and being negative.
List Out Solutions
So how are you doing when you face a challenge or problem in your life? Try listing out your solutions on paper. It is amazing how many ideas you can come up with when you put your mind in a problem solving or positive state.
Other Ideas to Worry Less
Things I also like to do or not to do to help worry less and enjoy the day. Some ideas like:
- Having a Positive Scorecard to review anytime you are worrying about something.
- Read Positive Books, Motivational Books and the Bible.
- Go to Church.
- Talk to your Spouse or Best friend that will help you let go of your worry or at least reduce the level of worry.
Life is too short to be worried. I think about all the times we worried about the kids when they were little and growing up. Now they are teenagers and have turned out great. So all the worries we had when they were little was a waste of time and energy.
