Elderly veterans are eligible for a wide range of benefits thanks to their military service. However, many veterans are unaware of the many resources available to them. Lack of education about senior veteran benefits leads to underutilization of valuable resources, and senior veterans struggling when they don’t need to.
Golfers in Arizona are excited this month because here in Arizona the Golf rates will start to drop since the Snow Birds are heading back to their summer homes. This is the time of the month we play most of our rounds for the year. Cheap rates last till October and then they start to go back up. So, if you are a golfer now is the time to travel to Arizona for some cheap golf. We are from the Midwest and we know that golf isn’t cheap during the summer months there.
Being a caregiver for an older parent or a loved one with disabilities in decline can be physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging. For these caregivers, the pandemic has fetched an additional worry that also weighs heavily on their shoulders. However, no matter what times we live in, we are ultimately forced to make some decisions for our own sake or in the name of the loved one we take care of. Caregiving for a Loved One
Another crazy month here at the Mills Way Family. We were sad to see Mom and Dad bead back to Minnesota this month. We drove them to Texas and spent the night before heading home. They went on to see relatives in Kansas City before heading home. Our drive to Texas was one of our worst in the last seven years. We drove in heavy Snow, Winds, Fog and Rain. We had times we were stopped on the Interstate with the motor shut off while we waited for traffic to move. We are planning on Flying more in the future then driving back home.
We seem to live in the world of scams now a days. There was probably many scams back when I was a kid but now that I have kids they seem to be coming out of the woodwork. We just try to prepare our kids of possible scams so they may not lose money in the future due to a scam. Scammers if they would use their skills for good they could probably make a good living.
Bitcoins have been talked about a lot in the news and online. Some people are scared about it and some people are excited about it. One of my friends called it in nice terms a very risky investment. Myself I could see it being a mainstream currency. I actually invested in a Credit Card company that deals with Bitcoins. My boys are more open to Digital Currency than the guys I golf with.
This month went way too fast. We have less than two weeks from today and we will be driving our folks back to their home in Minnesota. They have been down since the first of December and we wish they would just live here all year around. Maybe some day our wish will come true.
Our boys are good boys and we are very proud of them and love them to death. But they still worry me that they may not be Financially Free in the future because of their lack of Action towards Money and Education. Like is hard and even harder if you don’t have money. We constantly tell them they need to live with the Consequences of their Choices they make.
